Building Player Numbers

Building Player Numbers Program

All clubs face the challenge of attracting new players to their club and then subsequently retaining them from year to year and from one section of the club into another, for instance from juniors into the under 18 competition or under 18s into seniors.

This workshop provides an opportunity for clubs to explore some best practice examples from around the WorkSafe VCFL of how clubs are successfully attracting and retaining players within their community.

From each of these workshops it has been found that there are many other ideas that are proving to be successful locally and they are added to the workshop to continually increase the options that can be considered by all affiliates of the WorkSafe VCFL.

This one and a half hour workshop works ideally at league level where all clubs participate within the discussion and information sharing to enable a united approach to building the capacity of football within the region rather than one club gaining an advantage through increasing its player numbers. The workshop could fit comfortably within a league meeting format as a development program item.
