Volunteer Management

Volunteer Management

Quality volunteers are critical to the conduct and growth of country football. Volunteers are the glue that holds together every club/league/association in country Victoria. They are the most important resource a club has and the Worksafe VCFL recognises this.

The Worksafe VCFL offers a training program that assists clubs in all areas of managing volunteers. This program, once implemented, aims to help clubs build a quality club environment and will ultimately lead to the success of your football club.

The programs purpose is to:

  • Outline the rights and responsibilities of volunteers.
  • The benefits of appointing a club volunteer coordinator.
  • Show clubs how to recruit, retain and recognise volunteers.
  • The importance of identifying the roles of volunteers and writing job descriptions for them.
  • The importance of having a volunteer management policy and how to develop one.
  • To have a selection and screening process for volunteers.
  • To make sure clubs have a succession plan in place for future volunteers.
