Parliamentary Inquiry into Country Football

In 2003, an extensive Parliamentary Inquiry was conducted into country football by the state government. The Inquiry was conducted by the Rural & Regional Services & Development Committee.

Submissions were called from accross the State with a large number of individuals, leagues and clubs submitting to the panel in writing and in person.

The VCFL submitted a comprehensive submission for the Inquiry.

The Inquiry was significant for a number of reasons - it collated research and data on the economic and social impact of football in regional Victoria, while also paving the way for the Country Football and Netball Grants Program to take shape.
